Welcome to the Workforce Development Committee (WFDC) page. This committee was established in 1994 and continues to work towards the following Vision:

That the construction industry has the access to a workforce with:

• The right mix
• At the right time
• In the right numbers (supply = demand)

Focus Areas:

• Effective use of apprentices on heavy-industrial projects
• Apprentice mentoring
• Opportunities for Women in Construction
• Respect in the workplace
• Supervisory Qualifications and Training (from the Construction Industry Performance committee)
• Supply-demand forecasting including a comprehensive annual forecast and quarterly large-project (>$100mm) forecast
• Encouraging construction as a career choice including enhancements to the Careers in Construction CD-Rom and providing data on apprenticeship growth in construction
