Welcome to the Workforce Development Coordinating Committee (WDCC) Home Page. This committee was established in 1994 and continues to work towards the following Vision:
That the construction industry has the access to a workforce with:
- The right skills,
- The right mix
- At the right time
- In the right numbers (supply = demand)
Focus Areas:
- Effective use of apprentices on heavy-industrial projects
- Apprentice mentoring
- Opportunities for Women in Construction
- Respect in the workplace
- Supervisory Qualifications and Training (from the Construction Industry Performance committee)
- Supply-demand forecasting including a comprehensive annual forecast and quarterly large-project (>$100mm) forecast
- Encouraging construction as a career choice including enhancements to the Careers in Construction CD-Rom and providing data on apprenticeship growth in construction .
